As a licensed dealer in the state of Virginia, we are required to conduct sales in accordance with state law. And while we receive inquiries from prospective customers in a wide variety of circumstances, everyone shares a singular love and enthusiasm for this vehicle.
All of our vans are featured in as-is condition with attributes of beauty and blemish from a life well-lived. We are keenly attuned to each vehicle’s unique condition and value. We have provided generalized pricing in $5000 increments for the purpose of customers’ comparison. There are however a number of factors that can inform final price and the vans as pictured may include or exclude accessories that can be easily added or removed based on our extensive parts inventory.
While the majority of our complete vehicles are operable when acquired, we believe there is nothing roadworthy about a 40-year-old vehicle. Pricing does not reflect full restoration and an itemized estimate would determine costs related to operability or any bells and whistles one might choose to add. We are able to provide full restorations to your specifications, but most of our customers are calling from some distance, purchasing as-is in order to perform restoration regionally with mechanics of their choosing.
Unfortunately, there are costs associated with general vehicle maintenance and our business operations that complicate the prospect of selling any one Vanagon for less than $5,000. And while a van featured on our website may ultimately be available for less in the private party market, our inventory is offered here for prospective purchasers that may employ criteria beyond simple purchase price. Combinations of condition, options and availability all conspire to court the perfect customer. We will continue to warehouse what remains until an owner comes along to ensure that eventually, every van stays well-maintained and roadworthy so we all have something to honk and wave at for generations to come!
